<p>We made the decision to use WhatsApp on Day One! In fact the first thing we built in our platform was the ability to send messages from a Ten Space WhatsApp account. It started when WhatsApp opened its API for businesses in August 2018 with the launch of the&nbsp;<strong>WhatsApp Business API</strong>. This allowed companies to integrate WhatsApp messaging into their customer service and communication systems, enabling automated messages, customer support, and transactional notifications. Over time, Meta expanded availability, announcing that the WhatsApp Cloud API would be free for all businesses, making it easier for developers to integrate WhatsApp messaging into their platforms.</p>

<p>Lets face it -&nbsp; WhatsApp is far cooler than email and browser-based surveys. The experience of recieving a message in WhatsApp and responding in WhatsApp is just better. Whenever we show our customers the experience they always agree (and we can demo this to you really easily).</p>

<p>The biggest barrier to a high response rate is a lack of trust and familiarity with the technology being used. If your employees require a set of instructions ahead of the employee survey, chances are they won't complete it. This can also lead to discontent aimed at the HR team. If your employees are already comfortable with WhatsApp as a means of internal communication then don't force them to move away from it.&nbsp;</p>

This flatness enables employees to skip the middle man(ager), and communicate across teams with ease. This structure offers the perfect grounds for team building and nurtures employee engagement.</p>

<p dir="ltr">This usually works best with flipchart paper attached to a wall, but you can work it best based on the space you have.&nbsp;</p>

<h4 dir="ltr">Step 2: Unleash the superpowers</h4>
<p dir="ltr">Ask your team to write one thing that they see as a superpower for each team member on the pieces of paper.&nbsp;</p>

<h4 dir="ltr">Step 3: Embrace the feedback</h4>
<p dir="ltr">Ask each team member to go and find their own piece of paper. Ask them to read all the great feedback their team has given them and what they believe their superpower is.</p>

<h4 dir="ltr">Step 4: Self-discovery</h4>
<p dir="ltr">Ask them to summarise, based on what is on the paper, what the superpower is that they bring to the team.&nbsp;</p>

<p dir="ltr">The Ten Space 'Big HR Engagement Survey' has now closed and the results are in! Over the last few months, we've been gathering insight from hundreds of in-house HR professionals and we're going to give you a sneak-peak of our findings.</p>

While the overall engagement picture may be improving, there are pockets of concern or opportunity that may require targeted interventions. There could still be specific areas within organisations, such as HR leadership, that need more attention and focus to ensure sustained engagement and positive outcomes.&nbsp;</p>

There is a trend in both the general workforce and specifically HR teams which suggests a high level risk and potential turnover among key employees.</p>

<p dir="ltr">💡 Dropping engagement was particularly an issue for those who had been in the profession between 3 and 5 years - with over 50% of them saying they were less engaged now than in the previous 12 months.</p>

<p dir="ltr">A common frustration is the lack of buy-in and understanding from leaders, who often fail to listen to their HR counterparts. This lack of receptiveness is compounded by the presence of &ldquo;incompetent leaders&rdquo; and &ldquo;<a href="https://www.tenspace.co.uk/blogs/preventing-toxic-culture/">toxic leadership</a>&rdquo; within the organisation. The absence of clear direction from leadership has left HR teams feeling adrift and unable to manage their own teams effectively. The &ldquo;egos&rdquo; of the <a href="https://www.tenspace.co.uk/blogs/the-role-of-leadership-in-employee-experience/">leadership team</a> further exacerbate these issues, creating a hostile environment that is detrimental to employee engagement and HR engagement.</p>
<p dir="ltr">But it isn&rsquo;t all doom and gloom! The majority of HR professionals that we asked said that they weren&rsquo;t considering leaving the profession altogether.&nbsp;</p>
<p dir="ltr">💡 Over 80% of them said that they saw HR as their long-term career path. And over 70% of those that we asked, said that they&rsquo;d recommend HR as a career to others who were considering it.&nbsp;</p>
